All of our adult volunteers take part in training activities. This amount and level of training varies dependent upon the role they are undertaking, from a basic introduction to Scouting and safeguarding training right through to adventurous activities training.
The way our volunteers complete their training is modular, whereby everything that they need to know is split into smaller more manageable chunks. Each person completes learning, or we recognise skills they bring with them from previous volunteer roles or from the workplace and then they do a task to prove (or validate) their ability, most of this should form a natural part of what volunteers are doing within their role.
Our team of training advisers support and guide all of our volunteers through their training and training courses are provided by Cleveland County Scouts (our parent County). Details of courses can be found on the County website.
